KAL The Cassis Shawlette #3

Ce KAL est une sorte de petit jeu amusant lancé par Rachel et Mine et auquel Kabri et moi-même participons. Ce KAL porte sur le modèle de Collete Audrey, disponible sur Raverly ici. 

This KAL is like a little game launched by Rachel and Mine in which Kabri and I joined in. 

The model for the KAL is the Cassis Shawlette, a Collete Audrey's pattern, available on Raverly here.

This my version ....

Il a été tricoté en 3,5 mm avec la laine danoise Kunstgarn- Hjertegarn dont je n'ai plus référence du colori... c'est malin hein ?! Car avouez que les couleurs sont belles et ce rendu arc-en-ciel plutôt joli ! 

It has been knitted with 3,5 mm needles with some danish yarn Kunstgarn- Hjertegarn of which I don't know the shade, the label is lost ..... very clever isn't it ?! 
Because you must admit that the colors are beautiful and the rainbow like effect is really nice !

Ce modèle est facile à tricoter. C'est rapide et l'effet est vraiment intéressant. Je vous le conseille. 

Il me reste de la laine. Je vais voir si j'ai assez pour soit des mitaines, soit un petit bonnet. 

Pour voir le Cassis des copines, c'est par ici, par là et encore par là. 

This pattern is really easy to knit. It's growing up fast and the result is nice. I advice you to do it. 

I have some leftover yarn. I'm thinking of knitting mitts or a hat with it. 

To have a look on the Cassis of the other knitters, it's here, or there and yet thereby.

Some Happy little things

Trois petites choses toutes simples mais heureuses...

Suite à mon cadeau de blogganniversaire, j'ai reçu cette superbe carte de Fiona (Made in a muddle), une gagante, une talentueuse artiste qui a eu droit à son paquet de pelotes de coton, de thé et de bonbons à la rose ancienne, à son petit carnet et d'autres choses encore. 

Merci Fiona !  

Three little but happy things ... 

Following the giveaway in last april, I received this so pretty card from one of the winner, Fiona (Made in a muddle). Fiona is a talented artist who had some cotton balls, some old roses tea and candies, a notebook and other small things ...

En rentrant de mon séjour dans le Périgord, j'ai eu la surprise d'avoir de nouveau été nominée pour un Liebster Blog Award Par Janine de Perle2laine. Merci Janine !!! 

Janine est une sympathique bloggeuse qui avait tricotée deux belles couvertures pour les chats de la SPA et qui me les avaient envoyées pour que je les dépose. (Et c'est chose faite d'ailleurs !).

Toutefois, l'an passé j'ai décidé de ne plus participer à ce type de chaine... si je peux appeler cela ainsi. Je ne suis pas à l'aise avec le fait de nominer des bloggeuses parmi toutes celles que j'apprécie. J'espère Janine, que tu ne m'en veux pas de ne pas poursuivre la chaîne à laquelle tu me convies.... 

Je te remercie en tout cas d'avoir pensé à moi !!!  

Coming back from my stay in the Perigord, I was surprised to have again been nominated for a Liebster Blog Award by Janine from perle2laine.

Janine is a friendly blogger who knitted a few months ago 2 beautiful blankets for cats and sent them to me so that I could give them to the shelter for which, for almost 2 years, I've been collecting blankets, sheets and others stuffs they need for animals. Her 2 blankets are given. 

However, last year I decided to decline any future awards. Since, I've been a free-blog award. There are a few reasons for that but the main is that I'm not comfortable with the fact to choose among all of my bloggy friends to nominate only a few of them. 

Janine I hope you won't blame me not to continue this chain to which you invite me !

I'm truly flattered that anyone might think of my little blog for recognition ...

A new KAL ! The Cassis Shawlette #1

By cleaning up my studio this morning and sorting my balls of yarn, I came across a skein of Kunstgarn Yarn I had for quite a few years. I don't know the shade of it (the label is lost !). By seeing it, I immediately thought it'd be perfect for the Cassis Shawlette, a pattern subject to a Kal improvised by 2 bloggyfriends  Mine and Rachel. 

The story of this KAL is well told by Mine. For Rachel, this KAL rather means "Knit Almost Alone" ! 

En rangeant mon atelier ce matin et en rangeant mes pelotes de laine, je suis tombée sur une pelote de kunstgarn, colori inconnu (étiquette perdue), que j'avais depuis pas mal d'années. En la voyant j'ai de suite pensé qu'elle serait parfaite pour le Cassis Shawlette faisant l'objet d'un KAL improvisé par deux copinautes Mine et Rachel. L'histoire ce KAL est très bien racontée par Mine et pour Rachel ce Kal est plutôt un Knit Almost Alone !

I'm also happy when ...

For a week, it's been raining again and again. 
BUT ! 
I'm still happy because, 
the garden is greener and my roses are growing well. 

Depuis une semaine, il pleut presque sans discontinuer.
Mais ! 
Je reste heureuse parce que le jardin est de plus en plus vert et que mes roses poussent bien. 



I'm also happy when my husband picks some lily of the valley from the garden and brings a bouquet into the house ...

Je suis heureuse aussi quand mon mari cueille du muguet dans le jardin et en fait un bouquet qu'il ramène dans la maison... 

I love the sweet perfume of this flower. 
J'adore le doux parfum de cette fleur. 

I'm also happy when with some corriedale wool, 

Je suis heureuse quand, avec de la laine corriedale, 

Remember this wool ready to be spun 

and with some stash of icelandic wool, 

 et avec des restes de laine islandaise, 

I'm spinning many skeins of 2-plys yarns.

I'm also happy when despite the rain, I can work on my Alpaga Suri fleeces under my new lean-to garage. 

Je suis heureuse qu'en dépit de la pluie, je puisse travailler sur les toisons d'Alpaga Suri sous mon nouvel appenti.

I'm also happy when I'm carding some Alpaga fibers with my great drum carder. 
Je suis heureuse quand je peux carder de la fbre d'Alpaga avec ma super cardeuse à rouleaux. 

I'm also happy when from my workspace window, I can watch some birds feeding in the very green grass.

Je suis heureuse aussi quand de la fenêtre de mon atelier, je peux observer les oiseaux se nourrir dans l'herbe bien verte. 

I'm also happy when I'm invited to be at the shearing of some ewes.

Je suis heureuse aussi quand je suis invitée à participer à la tonte de quelques brebis. 

I'm also happy when I see the kindness of the shearer with the animals. 

Je suis heureuse aussi quand je constate de la gentillesse chez le tondeur à l'égard des animaux.

My friend had to calm her down during the shearing. It was her first shearing and she was frightened. 
Ma copine a dû la calmer pendant la tonte. C'était sa première tonte et elle était plutôt apeurée. 

After shearing, she was sooo upset !! 
Après, elle était plutôt contrariée !!!

Their friend, the goat, needed to control what had happened and the result of this mess !  

Leur copine, la chèvre, a eu besoin de contôler ce qu'il s'était passé et le résultat de tout ce bazard ! 

I'm also happy when I take such a photo. 

Je suis heureuse aussi quand je prends ce type de photo. 

I'm also happy because when I've almost done my new knitting project. 

Je suis heureuse aussi quand j'ai presque terminé mon nouveau tricot. 

And for now, I'm very happy because at the end of the week, I'm leaving for 10 days of holidays in the Perigord (again!) !

Et pour l'heure, je suis super heureuse car à la fin de la semaine, je pars pour 10 jours de vacances dans le Périgord (encore !) !

I'm sooooooo haaaapppyyyy !!!

Lopi

This post is about the tutorial I've written about how to knit a Lopi and that you can find here. 
The tutorial is about the building rules of a Lopi. 

Cet article est une introduction au tutoriel mis en ligne sous forme de pages dans ce blog et que vous trouvez ici. 
Ce tutoriel est consacré au principe de construction d'un Lopi.  

Lopi is a traditionnal way of knitting sweater in Iceland, knitting in circle and with interesting colorwork parts inspired by scandinavians patterns or designs created by knitters theirselves. 

Le Lopi désigne aujourd'hui le pull islandais, tricotés en rond et aux bandes de jacquards inspirés de motifs traditionnels scandinaves ou de motifs créés par les tricoteuses elles-mêmes. 

I learned to Knit Lopi 20 years ago in Iceland with a friend of mine. Since then, I've been using this way to knit almost all of my sweaters. I like this way of knitting because it's going fast and the shape looks nice. And also because it's leaving no seams to sew !  

Pour ma part, j'ai appris à tricoter les Lopi en Islande avec une amie islandaise, il y a plus de 20 ans. Depuis, pratiquement tous mes pulls sont tricotés selon le principe du Lopi. 
Je dis "sur le principe du Lopi" parce que j'aime la trame de construction des pulls avec cette méthode. En effet, elle permet de tricoter rapidement un pull simple et/ou fantaisiste et de surcroit sans beaucup de couture !!  

I've knitted many Lopis with icelandic wools from Istex brand and especially with Alafoss Lopi yarn with which you can get some bulky and very very warm sweaters (6mm). We can knit also the Lett Lopi which is thiner (4mm). 

J'ai tricoté bon nombre de Lopi avec de la laine Istex, la marque islandaise et notamment avec de l'Alafoss Lopi qui permet des pulls bien gros et chauds (6mm). On peut tricoter aussi avec de la laine moins grosse, la Lett Lopi (4mm).

You can knit sweaters without colorwork parts but using the same shape as Lopi. See the pics below. 

Il possible de tricoter un pull basé sur ce même principe de construction avec ou sans jacquard et avec tout autre type de laine, comme ceux présentés ci-dessous.

So, the illustrated tutorial I've written is to show you the main steps of the knitting and the building of a Lopi. 
The aim is to help you by giving some tricks of the knitting.

J'ai ainsi rédigé et illustré un tutoriel sur le principe général de construction d'un Lopi. J'insiste sur le fait que le tutoriel ne vous explique pas comment tricoter un modèle de pull en particulier mais il illustre les étapes principales du tricot Lopi.  
Ce tutoriel permettra à toutes celles qui désirent tricoter un pull en rond et avec jacquard de trouver des trucs et astuces pour réussir le tricot.
