The last two weeks ....

These last two weeks, I was sooo busy ....
Busy to keep after my 2 cats, the new one Hippolyte and Agathe the older one. They don't get along ... and it's not easy, sometimes very stressful for everybody here in the house !!
But both are alive !!!
I must confess that I'm sometimes worried for Agathe because she looks stressed. Hippolyte runs after her everytime she takes a step !!!!
I think she's fed up and tired of this. It's a shame because otherwise, they could live together peacefully without running and growling. She seems to tolerate him in the house. The problem is that he runs after her too often !!
I was told by many people that it tooks months before they could start getting along...
I must be patient !!!

I was also very busy because of my work on wool.
First, remember this alpaca wool I'd spun and dyed ... (see here)

I knitted it in a scarf in moss stitch.

Can you guess and feel the softness ?

I've knitted another scarf for my husband with a wool produced by a craftwoman I'd met in the Festival in the Lot (see here).

I knitted in moss stitch too ...

Then, with my own wool, I've started to knit the yarn I spun few months ago (see here).
This wool is the first I'd spun with my wheel.

I'd plyed it with some stash of icelandic yarn.

I'm knitting a blanket with squares I'll sew together later.
I think it'll be a small blanket ... I need one ball of yarn for one square knitted with 7mm needles.

I also worked on some fleeces.
One of them is a beautiful one : chocolate and white ... from a texel sheep.

After washing, I'd carded it ...
I got so many batts ready to be spun ...

Here I have almost 1,3 kgs of wool ...
J'ai ici presque 1,3 kgs de laine à filer ...

I keep them for next winter ... to play with my wheel .. like a princess ...

To finish, some pics of Hippolyte, our little rascal ... who is regaining strength. He's less and less bony.

Thanks a lot for your visit and for your lovely comments !

Please, Take Care
and
See you soon !

  7. We had 4 cats and it took quite awhile before they tolerated each other. They will
Make peace but they may not be buddies for awhile. That's just cats! As long as there is no blood involved if they fight you will be ok. That's what our vet said. Your spinning is beautiful and those scarves are so nice!! Seed stitch takes a lot of knitting so I can appreciate all the work you put in! They look really nice and soft and I love the colour blue you used! Hang in there wth your kitties!!

  17. I hope Hippolyte eventually tires of chasing poor Agathe. I once had cats in a rental home, and it was the same thing with the older cat not tolerating the kitten we brought in. Eventually they settled in together, but we weren't home during the day so weren't that bothered with it. Your little Hippolyte does look like a rascal!!

LOVE the blue scarf you made!! Yes, I can imagine how soft that alpaca feels. I knit a scarf in moss stitch once, but it is a stitch that requires much patience bringing the yarn forward and back! It is a nice stitch that shows off beautiful yarns though. The blanket has me intrigued with all that home-spun wool! You must feel very satisfied with having created this yarn from start to finish (well, except not owning the sheep). It's going to be gorgeous :)
    Enjoy your day Geraldine!

  20. Well, when we brought home our second cat (a boy too, btw) about three years ago our lady wasn't happy at all, even less because he used to chase her all the time... he still does sometimes, but less often, luckily, so I hope yours will do the same... xx
