Some Happy little things

Trois petites choses toutes simples mais heureuses...

Suite à mon cadeau de blogganniversaire, j'ai reçu cette superbe carte de Fiona (Made in a muddle), une gagante, une talentueuse artiste qui a eu droit à son paquet de pelotes de coton, de thé et de bonbons à la rose ancienne, à son petit carnet et d'autres choses encore. 

Merci Fiona !  

Three little but happy things ... 

Following the giveaway in last april, I received this so pretty card from one of the winner, Fiona (Made in a muddle). Fiona is a talented artist who had some cotton balls, some old roses tea and candies, a notebook and other small things ...

En rentrant de mon séjour dans le Périgord, j'ai eu la surprise d'avoir de nouveau été nominée pour un Liebster Blog Award Par Janine de Perle2laine. Merci Janine !!! 

Janine est une sympathique bloggeuse qui avait tricotée deux belles couvertures pour les chats de la SPA et qui me les avaient envoyées pour que je les dépose. (Et c'est chose faite d'ailleurs !).

Toutefois, l'an passé j'ai décidé de ne plus participer à ce type de chaine... si je peux appeler cela ainsi. Je ne suis pas à l'aise avec le fait de nominer des bloggeuses parmi toutes celles que j'apprécie. J'espère Janine, que tu ne m'en veux pas de ne pas poursuivre la chaîne à laquelle tu me convies.... 

Je te remercie en tout cas d'avoir pensé à moi !!!  

Coming back from my stay in the Perigord, I was surprised to have again been nominated for a Liebster Blog Award by Janine from perle2laine.

Janine is a friendly blogger who knitted a few months ago 2 beautiful blankets for cats and sent them to me so that I could give them to the shelter for which, for almost 2 years, I've been collecting blankets, sheets and others stuffs they need for animals. Her 2 blankets are given. 

However, last year I decided to decline any future awards. Since, I've been a free-blog award. There are a few reasons for that but the main is that I'm not comfortable with the fact to choose among all of my bloggy friends to nominate only a few of them. 

Janine I hope you won't blame me not to continue this chain to which you invite me !

I'm truly flattered that anyone might think of my little blog for recognition ...

Beautiful Perigord ...

I told in my previous post that I'd write about the beautiful nature in Perigord. 

I want to start with a sad topic. Indeed, Perigord is the region where is producted the famous "foie-gras" made with fat livers of geese and ducks. We all know the process : the force-feeding. I hate that ! 

And I hate so much that practice that I refuse to eat foie-gras. 

Well, what I mean is that region we've never seen gosses or ducks outdoors except at one place. I think it's astounding !  

Je vous avais dit écrire un petit quelque chose sur la nature périgourdine. Avant tout, je tiens à quelques mots sur la question du gavage pour la production de foie-gras. C'est une pratique que j'ai en horreur et d'ailleurs je refuse désormais d'en manger. 

Ce que je trouve ahurissant est que dans cette région de production, on ne voit jamais un seul canard, ni une seule oie en liberté. A l'exception d'une fois :

Bien qu'elle soient dehors, toutes ces oies sont gavées et l'on voit ci-dessous le résultat de cette pratique au niveau du cou !

I couldn't speak about that region without exposing this horrible practice ! I really hope that one day it'll be different ...

Indeed this region is so wild and green ...

There's a lot of space to let them free ...

I don't know what we can do against this cruelty except to boycott the products ! 

An other product comes from Perigord : the walnut. 

There're many fields of walnuts trees. 

Dans le Périgord : des noix et donc des noyers : 

In some fields, I was very happy to see poppies. I like so much that flower. 

And many daisies...

It's so green ... 

I love the forests there ... 

I think this spectacular : 

I love mushrooms ...

Once, I saw a caterpillars' nest ... 

Un jour, je suis tombée sur un nid de chenilles :

and a spiders' nest ...

These baby spiders are cute, aren't they ? 

Mais aussi sur un nid d'araignées ... 

And I met some interesting individuals ...

It was a pleasant stay in this region. 

On the Dordogne river banks, I could sit and crochet ...

This is what I did : 

I crocheted 2 cushions covers following the pattern I wrote last year. Now I must sew the cushions. 

J'ai crocheté 2 housses de coussins en suivant le modèle que j'avais écrit l'an passé. 

I don't how it can happen but I'm feeling like having no time for anything !!!! Do you feel the same ?! 

I have lot of work at the office, at home and almost no time for knitting or crocheting or spinning ! 

Furthermore, the weather is so chilly and windy here ... almost all the time. I'm tired of it !! 

Je ne sais pas comment c'est possible mais j'ai l'impression de ne pas voir de temps pour quoi que ce soit ! 

Beaucoup de travail au bureau, à la maison et presque pas de temps pour les loisirs ... 

De plus, j'en ai marre de ce temps froid et venteux !!

I'm also happy when ...

For a week, it's been raining again and again. 
BUT ! 
I'm still happy because, 
the garden is greener and my roses are growing well. 

Depuis une semaine, il pleut presque sans discontinuer.
Mais ! 
Je reste heureuse parce que le jardin est de plus en plus vert et que mes roses poussent bien. 



I'm also happy when my husband picks some lily of the valley from the garden and brings a bouquet into the house ...

Je suis heureuse aussi quand mon mari cueille du muguet dans le jardin et en fait un bouquet qu'il ramène dans la maison... 

I love the sweet perfume of this flower. 
J'adore le doux parfum de cette fleur. 

I'm also happy when with some corriedale wool, 

Je suis heureuse quand, avec de la laine corriedale, 

Remember this wool ready to be spun 

and with some stash of icelandic wool, 

 et avec des restes de laine islandaise, 

I'm spinning many skeins of 2-plys yarns. 

je peux filer beaucoup de pelotes de laine à deux brins.

I'm also happy when despite the rain, I can work on my Alpaga Suri fleeces under my new lean-to garage. 

Je suis heureuse qu'en dépit de la pluie, je puisse travailler sur les toisons d'Alpaga Suri sous mon nouvel appenti.

I'm also happy when I'm carding some Alpaga fibers with my great drum carder. 
Je suis heureuse quand je peux carder de la fbre d'Alpaga avec ma super cardeuse à rouleaux. 

I'm also happy when from my workspace window, I can watch some birds feeding in the very green grass.

Je suis heureuse aussi quand de la fenêtre de mon atelier, je peux observer les oiseaux se nourrir dans l'herbe bien verte. 

I'm also happy when I'm invited to be at the shearing of some ewes.

Je suis heureuse aussi quand je suis invitée à participer à la tonte de quelques brebis. 

I'm also happy when I see the kindness of the shearer with the animals. 

Je suis heureuse aussi quand je constate de la gentillesse chez le tondeur à l'égard des animaux.

My friend had to calm her down during the shearing. It was her first shearing and she was frightened. 
Ma copine a dû la calmer pendant la tonte. C'était sa première tonte et elle était plutôt apeurée. 

After shearing, she was sooo upset !! 
Après, elle était plutôt contrariée !!!

Their friend, the goat, needed to control what had happened and the result of this mess !  

Leur copine, la chèvre, a eu besoin de contôler ce qu'il s'était passé et le résultat de tout ce bazard ! 

I'm also happy when I take such a photo. 

Je suis heureuse aussi quand je prends ce type de photo. 

I'm also happy because when I've almost done my new knitting project. 

Je suis heureuse aussi quand j'ai presque terminé mon nouveau tricot. 

And for now, I'm very happy because at the end of the week, I'm leaving for 10 days of holidays in the Perigord (again!) !

Et pour l'heure, je suis super heureuse car à la fin de la semaine, je pars pour 10 jours de vacances dans le Périgord (encore !) !

I'm sooooooo haaaapppyyyy !!!
